Wanted: someone to keyword our images (Photography)

When you travel as much as we do, you quickly accumulate a huge amount of photos. Even though we do our best to catalog and keyword our images as we take them, we are continuously behind in cataloging our images. Not only that, we also have a large backlog of thousands of images.

Couldn’t this be something you can outsource? I’ve been thinking about just that, but it’s probably quite difficult. You need to find someone that is knowledgeable about marine life or is capable of looking up species in books or on the Internet. As if that wasn’t hard enough, you also have to trust this person with your images. Maybe we’ll find someone one day, but I’m not holding my breath.

    Hi,
Firstly let me say that i think your images are amazing! hope fully i can be of some help.
I am a PADI MSDT(non teaching status) living in the UK and have participated in conservation projects in the Phillipines, and dived around the world. My favourite area is Indonesia and i am particularly interested in all stuff macro, although i have i wide knowledge of marine life, so hoping to get to Irian Jaya very soon. I would be interested in helping to catalog/keyword your images in my spare time and would be happy to agree mutually suitable terms to protect your copyright.
I look forward to a reply and hope we can work something out.
    Many thanks
    Alan

Maybe not a great help for the backlog, but have you considered Apple’s Aperture for future work as I understand it has great features for managing libraries and indexing files

    Hi,

    Saw your site, really nice.

Anyway, have you considered posting your request on Amazon? They have a Mechanical Turk site that you can use to hire people to do this kind of work. The price is very little I think.
